Stowmarket Food & Drink Festival is set to welcome thousands of visitors on Sunday 5th July, bringing together the very best locally and regionally produced food and drink in the heart of the town.
More than 80 stalls will fill Stowmarket town centre, visitors can enjoy everything from salt beef bagels, buttermilk fried
chicken burgers and Korean corn dogs to homemade fudge, locally grown wines and locally brewed beers, alongside many other delicious treats.
Throughout the day, live music organised by the John Peel Centre will provide the soundtrack to the festival, showcasing talented local performers and creating a lively atmosphere for visitors as they eat, drink and relax.
The festival promises plenty for families too, with activities and entertainment taking place across several locations. The Food Museum will once again be a hub of family fun, offering free admission throughout the day. Families can relax in the museum grounds while enjoying local cider, sparkling wine or an ice cream, while children make the most of the ever-popular sandpit complete with buckets and spades.
Younger visitors can also enjoy a free craft tent and a programme of puppet shows running throughout the day, 
ensuring there is plenty to keep children entertained. Adults can explore the Festival of Beer and Brewing, sampling a range of local beers and ales, while the returning Kitchen Theatre will give visitors the opportunity to pick up new culinary skills and discover exciting dishes from local chefs.
Red Gables will be offering a packed programme of family friendly activities, including face painting, live music, a budget-friendly café and a range of charity stalls supporting good causes.
This year’s festival also introduces several exciting new attractions. A brand new Wine Tasting Tent will offer visitors the chance to sample a selection of wines, with advance booking available through Stowmarket Town Council’s website. The Mix will be opening its doors for the first time as part of the festival, hosting biscuit decorating, soft play and coffee demonstrations. Families can also enjoy a special foodie-themed film screening at The Regal for just £2.50.
Visitors are encouraged to explore Stowmarket’s thriving independent businesses, many of which will be open throughout the day, alongside the town’s wide range of cafés and eateries.
