Chilton Fields was buzzing over the Bank Holiday weekend as thousands of people attended StowFest 2026, a free, family-friendly community event held on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th May. The festival once again delivered a vibrant mix of live music, delicious food, and engaging activities for all ages, marking the start of the summer season in Stowmarket.
Over the course of the two-day celebration, audiences enjoyed an exciting line-up of live performances from local favourites including stand out sets from The Sweetest Kill, Soul’d Out, 88mph, Elsie Franklin and Rude & Reckless.
Children and families were treated to a wide range of free activities, including a giant inflatable dart board and football table, a Nerf battle ring (courtesy of Kicks and Tricks), arts and crafts, face painting, circus skills and traditional carnival games, ensuring plenty of entertainment for visitors of all ages.
Visitors also enjoyed a vibrant selection of local traders and charities, with stalls offering everything from jewellery and crafts to sweets and unique gifts, giving festivalgoers the opportunity to support local businesses and community organisations.
Food and drink were once again a highlight of the weekend, with a diverse range of vendors serving festival favourites for all attendees.
Archie Merritt, StowFest Event Organiser, said: “This year’s StowFest was an incredible success, and one of our busiest to date! With an impressive lineup of musicians, a variety of delicious food options, and an abundance of good vibes, there was something for all to enjoy. A heartfelt thank you to all who attended and supported the event this year.”
