Councillor Kate Yates

I settled in Stowmarket over 10 years ago and have found it to be a great place to raise a family. One of our favourite places is the museum – such an amazing venue right in the middle of town!

My day job is as the administrator of a local sight loss charity and my background is in heritage and information. I am really keen to support the town in showcasing its fascinating history and all its characters.

I am also very proud to be involved with a number of environmental projects in the town including Red Gables’ Volunteers of Stowmarket and the Stowmarket Eco Future Group. I can generally be found at the Sunday recycling stall and repair cafe every month!

I am really looking forward to working with all my fellow councillors to help Stowmarket reach its full potential as a vibrant, cultural and green destination.
