I came to Suffolk nearly forty years ago, originally living in Elmswell I moved to Stowmarket in 1990. I have been involved with various organisations within the town, I enjoy setting quizzes, I provide them for local clubs and charities to help raise funds. I’m lucky to have some great friends at The Monday Club where we have music quizzes.
I have been a school governor at Abbot’s Hall Primary School. I have been the Chairman of Stowmarket Local History Group since 2014, delivering walks and talks about the history of the town around the county. A lot of people will recognise me from working at the Food Museum where I’m now in my fourteenth year.
I believe the biggest asset this town has is its inhabitants, without them the community structure of the town would be nonexistent. There is a charitable big heart at the centre of this town which I’m proud of. We need to try and focus on the positives, which isn’t always an easy task.
I spend a lot of time involved in the past of the town, I want to see what I can do to help its future.
