Councillor Alan Edwards

A family man, I am married with two daughters and I came to live in Stowmarket in 1994 as I was in the R.A.F. and posted to Wattisham. My children, their partners and my grandchildren still live in and around the town.

My daughters went to Stowmarket schools as do now my grandchildren. I was a Governor and then Chair of Governors at Combs Middle School during my daughters’ school years.

I became involved with the Stowmarket Carnival and was a part of the committee for several years, engaging in a variety of roles from arena events coordinator to health and safety advisor.

I currently run a business in the town which has successfully employed local people since its inception in 2007.

Having lived in Stowmarket for 29 years I have seen many changes. I want the best for the town and its people and hope for a prosperous place where all can thrive.
